Rapid Response

As a relatively small organisation the Mike Procter Foundation has been able to react quickly to crises that arise in its areas of interest.

At Ottawa Primary School the 10am meal is the only food many of the children will eat. For two years after Christmas budgetary constraints forced the school to suspend the provision of meals for several days. Mike Procter Foundation stepped in to fill this gap.

During the Covid-19 pandemic Mike Procter led efforts with Hollywoodbets and other supporters of the Foundation to provide food parcels to the families of the schoolchildren. In April and May 2020 six tonnes of food and other essential everyday items were distributed to these families.

The Foundation was also able to contribute support to the community following the flooding that hit the Durban area in 2022.
